The Temple of the Marmot is one of the few churches in Stormspire indigenous to the city. The cult prays to The Marmot, an unseen diety who supposedly roams the catacombs of the Stone and brings righteous punishment to the wicked and sugary treats to all good children every Marmotsfeast. Worship of the Marmot is not very widespread, though use of his name is commonly included in daily vulgarity.
Celeste D'Sanjoi is one of a very few warriors who have devoted themselves entirely to The Marmot's temple. She is a tireless pursuer of evil doers, bringing His justice when The Marmot cannot. A bag of sweets for street children is never far from her hip.
So, I first submitted Celeste D'Sanjoi as a painting in early '07 and since then I've learned a few tricks. I've always enjoyed the idea of this image and wanted to revisit it and do it right. So here it is, the drawing has been tweaked so that she doesn't have giganto head syndrome or a screwed up right arm, and obviously I think the color rendering is a lot better. I did this today in PS in about 6hrs...compared to the original which took me 12, I couldn't be happier.
Awesomeeeeeeeee~! You're so good drawing characters being overaccesorised...I hope you can do a tutorial regarding about it...Because I'm planning to make characters being overaccesorised (somewhat rpg type style with mugs, daggers, etc. you get the idea ^^)
In all seriousness, love this image. On one hand, I just keep thinking "wouldnt all that stuff get in the way?" but at the same time it has this cool utilitarian vibe.
Love the scarf and the nailed up book as well. Beautiful stuff.
i can only say very cool, it keeps me thinking about some cool stuffs that could happen and the design of the character is pretty awesome too, i love all the little details I knew there was a reason why i watch you >D
I'm not an artist, so I can't say all the technical terms why this works, I just know it does. One of the better character designs and execution I've seen in a while. Great work.
je and great concept
(aww let that bunny go T_T)
